A British man has been killed in a suspected knife attack outside a nightclub in Croatia, according to local reports.
Police from the Lika-Senj county said a young man was attacked at 5:30am on Zrce Beach, in Pag, Novalja, which is one of the biggest summer party spots in Europe.
He is believed to be between 18 and 21-years-old.
Two other young men were attacked and wounded. One man is in a serious condition, according to reports.
Spokeswoman Maja Brozicevic said the alleged murderer is on the run and no arrests have been made.
The British man’s body was found on Zcre Beach in front of a nightclub.
He had suffered multiple wounds which are believed to have been inflicted with a knife.
The scene has been cordoned off by police.
An employee at the club said: “There was a lot of blood [when I came into work this morning at 7am].
“Everything happened in front of a fast food restaurant so there will be witnesses.
“One person has been killed and other hospitalised. Someone else is also injured.”
Ms Brozicevic said: “A young citizen of Great Britain has been killed at Zrce in Novalja.
“The perpetrator is not yet known and police are conducting an investigation led by the Zadar County Attorney’s Office.”
