A Facebook photo of a missing teenage girl kissing a mystery man could solve the mystery of her disappearance.
Katrina Bohenkamp, was last seen in late October 2012 at a boarding house in Strathfield, Sydney, where her father lived.
The 15-year-old had recently connected with her dad after being put into foster care, aged two.
Now a photo of her kissing a man has been released by authorities in the hope that it could be a breakthrough in the case.
And police have now released it after a $500,000 reward was offered for information on her disappearance.
In the snap, blonde-haired Katrina can be seen kissing a shaven-headed man.
Despite investigations, police have never identified him but think he may have information on what happened to her.
Her half-sister, Jaide Simpson, told Yahoo News : “It’s been horrible not having answers and not knowing what happened to her. I’ve got so many different theories.
“Hopefully we can get some kind of clarity and the theories can be put to rest.”
Detective Inspector Christie Houldin from New South Wales Police said officers had been working on the case for sevent years.
She said: “We are constantly looking for those answers for Katrina’s family and for the wider community who are worried about Katrina. We hold grave concerns for Katrina’s safety.
DI Houldin said there had been a number of unconfirmed sightings since she vanished.
An inquest into the teen’s disappearance began last week, which heard she had lived an unstable life and been the victim of sexual assault before she vanished.
Many residents at her father’s boarding house had a criminal background and two men were on the child protection register, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
